Calais Agriculture Committee - received $500 to plant edible landscaping

After a year of planning and a lot of meetings, the Calais Agriculture Committee began laying out and digging holes (on June 17) to plant the first dozen trees in the new Gospel Hollow Edible Park, located behind the Calais Town Hall.

Food Justice Program of Highgate - received $1000 for their Good Food, Good Medicine program

The Food Justice Program of Highgate created an eight-part family wellness series, providing year-round food and herbal education for adults at Highgate Apartments and Green Acres Affordable Housing in Barre. The start up funds for the program from the HMCCF grant generated energy and interest which was matched by the Vermont Community Foundation's Donor Advised Food Justice Fund.
