How Our Co-op is Responding
So much has changed over the past few months. We have all had to adapt quickly to a new way of doing things, and our co-op community has been overwhelmingly supportive. Our team is working hard to provide a safe shopping experience. Here are a few of the actions we are taking to protect our community:
Our operating hours are now 9 am – 7 pm daily, with the 9 to 10 am reserved for high-risk shoppers.
An enhanced cleaning regimen, which includes disinfecting all frequently-touched parts of our store multiple times a day, with baskets and carts as often as possible, and deeper disinfection by Green Home Solutions twice a week in the highest use areas.
Offering hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes in many locations through the store and a hand-washing sink outside by our front door.
Limiting the number of shoppers during peak times to provide ample spacing.
Installed plexiglass shields at cash registers, offering masks and face shields to all employees along with enhanced pay and benefits through this stressful time.
Shopper Code of Conduct
For the sake of everyone’s health, we ask the following:
Do not come to the Co-op if you are symptomatic of COVID-19.
Wear a face covering that covers both your nose and mouth.
Reserve the first hour of business (9–10 am) for high-risk shoppers, which includes seniors and those with underlying health conditions.
Maintain at least six-foot distance from others.
Shop efficiently and socialize outdoors.
Consider ways to minimize shopping trips for yourself and your neighbors and family.
Shop solo, including without children, to the extent possible.
Cover your cough/sneeze, wash hands, use sanitizer, and try to touch only the products you purchase.
Use your credit card/debit card instead of cash whenever possible.
Masks with Valves
Thank you for wearing a facial covering while at the Co-op! If you use a mask with an exhalation valve, please know that most respirators with valves are not effective in slowing the spread of COVID-19, because the valve allows unfiltered exhaled air to escape. This is the finding of Cornell University whose standards are used in New York State.
Online Ordering with Curbside Pick-Up
Place your Curbside Pick-Up online order by 5 pm the day before you want to pick-up. You can also order up to a week in advance! Orders are ready for pick-up between 7:30 – 8:30 am and 7:30 – 8:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. Picking up is contact-less and straightforward. Pull up to the front of the Co-op, provide your name, and a staff member will load your groceries into your vehicle. Place your order!
Lunch-to-Go Curbside Pick-Up
We are now offering our members a Lunch-to-Go option for outside curbside pick-up. Lunch-to-Go options include cold sandwiches, salads, chips, drinks, and cookies. Place your order online by 10 am for same-day pick-up or choose a pick-up date for up to a week in advance, Monday through Friday. Pick your lunch order up between noon and 1 pm by pulling up to the car-charging solar canopy in the Co-op’s parking lot. You won’t need to leave your car.
Co-op Product Availability
After the initial wave of panic buying, supplies have leveled out. Still, due to other pandemic related factors, we could see intermittent interruptions for some time to come. Know that we have been working to diversify our supply chain and shore up our relationships with local vendors to ensure steady access to the products you rely on.
