Food & Fund Drive Recap
Knowing that the Vermont Foodbank had nearly doubled the amount of food it typically distributes to meet the growing demand as the pandemic continues, we launched our Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Food & Fund Drive to support the Foodbank.
We are excited to share that, in November and December, our Co-op community collected enough food and funds to provide over 36,000 meals for our central Vermont neighbors in need.
During the campaign, the Co-op collected nearly 1,000 pounds of non-perishable food and raised over $21,000. In addition to shoppers making donations at the register and the Co-op providing a $5,000 donation, the funds collected include financial support from our community partners: Northfield Savings Bank, Cabot Creamery, and Farrell Distributing and an extremely generous personal donation of $2,500 from a long-time Co-op member.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated in this cooperative effort.
