While our prepared foods team does not have the capacity to make pies in-house this year, don’t worry! The Co-op will still have locally made pies to meet your holiday meal needs.
Red Door Bakery, located in Marshfield, Vermont, will deliver to our co-op early in the morning on Monday, Nov. 22, and again on Wednesday, Nov. 24. We will have their 9-inch pies in apple, pumpkin, pecan, strawberry rhubarb, and triple berry. All of Red Door Bakery’s pies are made from scratch with no preservatives and are GMO-free.
If you need gluten-free desserts, Vermont Gluten Free Bakery in Montpelier has your back. Keep an eye out for their apple, pumpkin, and chocolate pecan pies to start arriving at the Co-op in the two weeks leading up to Thanksgiving. Craving a key lime mini pie? Don’t miss the gluten-free deliciousness from Fun Yums, located in Moretown, Vermont.
Considering making your own pie? Start with this basic dough recipe. From there, the possibilities are endless. A classic pumpkin, apple, or blueberry pie could do the trick. Or you may want to mix it up with something a little different, like this eggnog custard variation.
