Q: Klinger's croissants bring me in and to have a healthy, tasty lunch. Cinnamon rolls are a favorite. Gouda cheese is another! Thank you!

Q: Please get a cheese cloth product that is organic quality (no bleach, purely grown).
A: Thank you for your input! What a great suggestion. I have found a distributor we can buy unbleached cheesecloth from. Once we have sold through our current stock, we will bring in this new product. And the unbleached is less expensive! -Olivia, Grocery Buyer
Q: Noticed off marking on the inside of several cans of Wolfgang Puck chicken and rice soup. I've never seen this before, though I buy this brand a lot. Thought you should be aware. Any cause for concern?
A: Thank you for your input! I will reach out to Wolfgang Puck Soup and see if they have any further information on this. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you if this is a cause for concern without seeing the marking.

Q: Please carry the Green Mt. Organics lactose free butter. There are four facings of two Cabot products, so there is room. Thank you!
A: Thank you for your input! Are you looking for the Green Valley Lactose Free Butter? As far as I know, Green Mountain Creamery only does greek yogurt. We normally carry Green Valley Lactose Free Butter, but it has been out of stock from our distributors. -Olivia, Grocery Buyer
Q: My partner and I both grew up in the watershed in Maine that Poland Spring pumps from. Despite this Nestle affiliate's major green washing campaign, their impact has been deeply negative for our community. Disappointed to see it here.
A: Thank you for your input! As a Mainer myself, with a family home that draws from the watershed, I completely understand your concern. We try to offer alternatives to the traditional bottled water with a fill-your-own water station and Just Water, a compostable bottle. However, many of our customers made it clear that they want us to carry bottled water and we believe that all bottled water, not limited to Poland Spring, are problematic in some way, so it becomes an issue to pick and choose brands. If you would like to discuss this more, please reach out to me at email@example.com. -Olivia, Grocery Buyer
Q: Sammie's GF Sourdough bread and bagels. I know of another family who would love to have this. Beast Burger "Sliders". Kid w/ tons of allergies.
A: Thank you for your input! I had just started looking into this brand. Unfortunately, it odes not appear that they work with any of our distributors. I have contacted them to find out more. Beyone Burger - we are working on expanding this brand. However, the sliders are currently not available. -Olivia, Grocery Buyer
Q: We wasted our money on the GF muffins - they crumbled to dust, waste of Co-op space.
A: Thank you for your input! Would you be able to tell me what brand of GF muffin you purchased? Please reach out to customer service for a return for this product, as it sounds like it was a very disappointing experience.
-Olivia, Grocery Buyer
Q: Could you please bring back soy bologna I used to buy here. Why is it that everything I buy is discontinued? (Just a thought).
A: Thank you for your input! I'm sorry it feels like we are discontinuing your favorite products. We try to make the decision to stop carrying a product very carefully, based on sales and any special qualities. Unfortunately, this product was discontinued because Tofurey had stopped shipping it to us and would not begin shipping it again until April, at best. -Olivia, Grocery Buyer
Q: Coconut Bliss, brownie walnut chocolate. Yum and allergen friendly.
A: Thank you for your input! I appreciate your persistance :) At this point, we will not be replacing a more popular flavor with this one. -Olivia, Grocery Buyer

A: Thank you for your input! I will mention this out of stock issue to the buyer and see if we can order more frequently. It is back in stock now. -Olivia, Grocery Buyer
Q: Why are there never any Meyer's Bagles? Or different kinds (i.e. maple)? Buy more!
A: Thank you for your input! At this time we carry 10 varieites of Meyer's Bagels in our frozen department and four varieties in our bakery. They are often still in stock until 4 or 5 pm, but some days they do sell out. Quantity is determined by Meyer's, but I can pass along the message. There are also bagels from KC's and Patchwork. -Olivia, Grocery Buyer
Q: Any chance we could give Pili Nuts a try? They're a super tasty high-fat nut which I'd prefer to buy here rather than online.
A: Unfortunately, we do not have a current source for Pili nuts, perhaps in the future. -Terry, Bulk Buyer
Q: More Kite Hill nut cheeses please!
A: I would love to, but, there isn't available shelf space at this time to bring in anymore. However, if you have a favorite one, I can special order for you or rotate the flavors. Please call me 262-3236. Thanks! -Bibi, Cheese Buyer
Q: We love it here and are very regular shoppers. We feel that the cheeses that you wrap yourselves often take on the flavor of the plastic wrap.

Q: Give your cashiers space heaters, they look frozen.
A: It has been quite cold for stretches this winter. We plan to replace our 20 year old heating system this year which should make a big difference. -Kari, General Manager
Q: The cafeteria, including radiators, is freezing cold (and not just today). How come? Call back the architect.
A: Our apologies. We are working on a plan to replace the 20 year old heating system by next winter. At the same time, the new system should be able to supply adequate make up air for all the ventilation and reduce the negative air pressure that sucks in the cold weather when doors open. -Kari, General Manager
Q: These big screens all over the place are obnoxious like gas station TV or sports bar. Is there nothing else we could do with the money?
Q: Please remove the TV by the registers.
Q: The new screen at the Front End is quite unpleasant. Even if it wasn't blocking out the little sun we get in winter.
Q: What is with the large TV that we have no option but to see towards the exit? I don't need your advertising and technology in my face.
Q: Can you please remove the large new screen at the registers. It's overstimulating and unnecessary. Just another big screen to deal with.
A: The purpose of the new monitor is to better communicate various information for the community. I would ask for patience as we fine tune the messages, relocate the monitor to the wall, and get used to a new feature. If this proves unpopular over the long haul, We are open to change. Thanks. -Kari, General Manager
Q: Car charging station for free! For that one dude! Come on. Spend $ better.
A: The expense associated with charging did not warrent the expense of a pay station. We may need to develop a policy limiting use if the charger is dominated by certain individuals. -Kari, General Manager
Q: Please treat all employees with respect.
A: That is my expectation as well. -Kari, General Manager
Q: Why haven't members been warned about the council retreat meeting?
A: Once a year the Council holds a retreat to focus on group dynamics and its goals for the coming year. These retreats have always been held offsite without notification to the members. No official business is conducted so the retreats have been treated different from the monthly Council business meetings. -Kari, General Manager
Q: 1) Recyling and trash in the cafe: may I suggest that the courrent signs be replaced by photos of the actual containers in the cafe? I see folks who take the time to see what goes where and it is confusing as it is. 2) How about less plastic? In the cafe, how about eliminating plastic utensils and especially straws. I know folks want to take out hot food and eat on the road. Encourage folks to bring their own. Maybe have a "less plastic at the Co-op" campaign. 3) Recycling or composting napkins in the deli cafe. Brown napkins should be able to be composted. Maybe eliminate the green print on them? They should at least recycle.
A: Thank you for your suggestions!
In regards to your suggestion to compost napkins and to eliminate the print – we are considering using the printed napkins primarily for catering orders, but at this time there are still barriers to composting napkins. Our compost service requires that paper towels be uncontaminated and separate from all other waste. Similarly, dirty napkins cannot be recycled.
In regards to your suggestion to reduce plastic, it’s a great goal! While folks will probably still want the option of plastic-ware, a sign gently reminding them to bring their own reusable utensils might be a good place to start.
In regards to your suggestion to change the recycling signage, we have improvements in the works…stay tuned! -Emma, Customer Service Rep
Q: Dear Co-op Management: The absense of music is deafening! Please, reconcile your reservations about it - musoc really could make the shopping experience more enjoyable. Music diversification programs are available to use.
Q: It would make the Co-op more pleasant and fun if you played music through a loud speaker.
A: Thank you for your suggestions. There are definitely people on both sides of the question of music. I don't believe there is one type or mix of music that would work for everyone and so I think it better overall to go without. -Kari, General Manager
Q: Thank goodness for the big screen TV - because that expenditure was clearly necessary. Tell us again how it's the senior discount that is financially a burden to us.
A: Since you asked: last year the Co-op provided $154,000 in discounts for seniors, a 13% increase over the prior year. The new monitor cost about $330 and will be used to communicate information about events, workshops and more. -Kari, General Manager
Q: How about a kids' corner like the Plainfield Co-op? Maybe withg a limit of kids?
A: Our Co-op had one of those back at the Barre Street location. Space is at a premium in this store. Do you have an idea about where to locate a kids' corner? -Kari, General Manager
Q: Please ask your buyers to puchase Certified Humane products for this store.
