Meet Your 2024 Council Candidates

Kristian Connolly
New CandidateFood's importance isn't found in its value as a product or commodity. A person's importance isn't found in their value as a means to a corporate or capitalist end. A food Co-op's importance isn't found in its profit margin or hollow words contradicted by its actions. Current Co-op leadership doesn't want me. Which is why you, and our Co-op, do. Let's be the Co-op of truth, transparency, and trust.

Carl Etnier
New CandidateIn difficult times, the Co-op needs experienced leaders who know how to disagree without being disagreeable, how to listen to people who have been hurt and take their issues seriously, and who welcome and respond to input from members. I have a track record of doing just that at Hunger Mountain Co-op.

Steven Farnham
IncumbentThank you for the opportunity to serve Hunger Mountain Co-op. It is important to continue focusing on carbon footprint reduction, greater sustainability, and greater dynamism and diversity in how the co-op serves the community. I will continue to listen to Hunger Mountain Co-op members and workers, to know their vision, needs, concerns, and goals. I appreciate your support and vote. Thank you.

Elizabeth Jesdale
New CandidateAs a 23-year employee of the Co-op, it is time to utilize that experience and run for Co-op council. I keep thinking of the six young people who bravely came forward, who, along with many of us, were denied their voice. We deserve to have our voices recognized and changes made. This may be a tall order in a world that does not hold our voices in an equal light. I will persist.

Catherine Lowther
IncumbentI became a Co-op member in 1989. As a lifelong organic gardener, a psychotherapist and health counselor, a faculty member at Goddard College for 23 years where I started the BA in Sustainability Program, chaired the Sustainability Committee, and offered courses in Climate Change, I will bring my experiences supporting health and sustainable living to the Co-op Council.

Erich Zeichner
New CandidateI support change consisting of better oversight of the executive component of the business. I am hoping that there will be a consensus leading to a more collaborative, respectful, and equitable partnership with the entire Co-op staff leading to total transparency and better morale. I look forward to being part of that effort in whatever capacity I can. Thank you for supporting change.
