State of the Climate 2019, What Can We Expect?

Plainfield Opera House
Address: 18 High St. (Rt. 2), Plainfield, Vermont 05667

10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 22nd. Featuring Weathering Heights Meteorologist Roger Hill & Vermont State Climatologist Dr. Lesley-Ann Dupigny-Giroux

What is up with the weather? And what is up with global climate? Where does this all seem to be heading, and what impact will this all have upon Vermont and New England?

This is a free public forum led by Vermont's well-known weather forecaster Roger Hill and by UVM Professor Lesley-Ann Dupigny-Giroux, who is Vermont's State Climatologist as well as one of the lead authors of the stunning 4th National Climate Assessment, (just published in November 2018). There will also be a quick overview of ocean patterns in the North Atlantic off the coasts of Canada, United States and Greenland.

This in-depth event is meant to provide the foundation for an informed debate into the future, so we can develop mitigation strategies, plan our response with friends & families, and adapt to changes already underway.

Sponsored by the Town of Plainfield Hazard Mitigation Committee.
