Thank you to our shoppers who rounding up to Give Change this past year. By rounding up their purchases to the next dollar and making other donations at the register, Co-op shoppers took part in a collective effort to support organizations and programs that have a direct impact on our local community. By giving spare change, they helped to create the change they want to see in our region and the world.

Specifically, shoppers supported these organizations last year:

July – Central Vermont Humane Society $376.37

August – Good Beginnings of Central Vermont $292.53

September – Prevent Child Abuse Vermont $109.02, splitting the month with Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina $750.24

October – Community Harvest of Central Vermont $286.50

November & December – $1,548.32 was donated to help fill 650 grocery bags for our neighbors in need through the Co-op’s annual Holiday Grocery Pack, while $1,307.34 was given to support the Vermont Foodbank through the Co-op’s Feed A Family Food & Fund Drive

January – Capstone Community Action $798.28

February – Good Samaritan Haven $994.02

March – $512.68 was donated to the Hunger Mountain Cooperative Community Fund, which awards grants to businesses, organizations, and initiatives aligned with our mission.

April – North Branch Nature Center $1,018.05

May – People’s Health and Wellness Clinic (pictured above) $800.00

June – Vermont Foodbank $830.83, while a one-day event for the Montpelier Food Pantry raised $98.68

The grand total for this past year was $9,722.86. Thank you to everyone who supported these remarkable groups and their invaluable community programs.
