  • July 10, 2019 5:00 PM - July 10, 2019 7:00 PM

Presented by Rachel Kennedy, Green Mountain Transit, Sr. Transit Planner

Green Mountain Transit is finishing up a two year comprehensive system redesign. Capital Region changes are slated for implementation with the opening of the Taylor One Transit Center on Taylor St. in Montpelier, in August/September of this year.

We've been working hard at refining our plan, based on public comments, through several public outreach periods. We are in the final phase and would love to bring the final plan out to the Hunger Mountain Co-op Community, as part of a larger public outreach initiative, during the first two weeks in July. We will be presenting on changes, doing an interactive activity, and gathering public comment that will inform the final service change recommendations. Please join us, and help shape the future of transit in your region!

Presented by Amy Panetta, MA, NC, Nutrition and Weight Loss Consultant

September can bring a frenzy of activities for so many of us. As we settle into the autumn and a new academic year, we feel the pressures mount to stay afloat with our day-to-day responsibilities. With this new excitement and activities, it often leads to a feeling of overwhelm, where the body’s “fight or flight” stress response is stuck in “on” position.

Did you know that this state of stress can wreak havoc on so many of our body systems, including our ability to manage weight by boosting our cravings for calorie-dense, processed foods? Is there a solution for this cycle? If so, how can we break it? Amy Panetta, MA, NC, Nutrition and Weight Loss Consultant, will guide you through understanding the hormones at play, how you can stop this cycle, find balance, and shed excess weight!
