Workshops & Events
See what's happening in your community

Hunger Mountain Co-op exists to create and sustain a vibrant community of healthy individuals, sustainable local food systems, and thriving cooperative commerce.

We host a variety of events, including product demos led by our demo coordinator and many of our local vendors, educational wine & cheese tastings, tabling with area nonprofits, Co-op council meetings, and more. Check out the calendar below for all the details.

Our Co-op also curates workshops as part of our mission to educate the community, offering diverse learning opportunities while holding presenters accountable for providing information that is informative and well-researched. Workshops are free unless otherwise noted and are typically held in our upstairs Community Room, with access to a freight elevator upon request. Space is limited and pre-registration is encouraged. To reserve a seat for any of our workshops, use the online registration form here, sign up on the bulletin board in our exit way, or call us at 802-262-3242.

If you have any questions or would like to suggest a topic/subject, a class or lecture, or an activity that you would be interested in or feel our community would like to attend, let us know here. If you are interested in possibly presenting or leading a workshop in the future, please review and submit the application found here.

We will be donating 10% of our deli sales on October 3 to NOFA-VT’s Farm Share Program. This program provides subsidized CSA shares of fresh, local food to limited-income Vermonters.

    End-of-Life Care for Pets Workshop

    5:30 PM-7:00 PM
    October 3, 2019

with Erika S. Bruner, DVM, CVA

Whether managing the challenges of old age, or facing a terminal diagnosis, the end of our pets’ lives can be a difficult time for many of us. We want only the best for them; but what does that mean? How do we decide among our options for diagnosis and medical care? How can we best help them to be comfortable? Since we can’t talk to them, how do we assess their quality of life? And if we reach the point of choosing to end their lives, how and when should we make that decision?

Dr Erika Bruner, a local veterinarian since 2002, now focuses her practice only on veterinary acupuncture and end-of-life care.  She has worked with many clients to help them find their ways through these and other questions. Come to this workshop to share stories, explore your thoughts, ask questions, and hear practical information on caring for pets at this stage of life that can be the most difficult, but also is often the most beautiful and meaningful.

Space is limited and registration in advance is suggested. You can reserve your spot by using the easy online form here, by emailing your contact info to info@hungermountain.coop, or by calling us at 802-262-3202.

All workshops are FREE and held in the Hunger Mountain Co-op community room unless otherwise noted, with access to a freight elevator upon request.
