See what's happening in your community

Hunger Mountain Co-op exists to create and sustain a vibrant community of healthy individuals, sustainable local food systems, and thriving cooperative commerce.

We host a variety of events, all listed on the calendar below, including product demos led by our demo coordinator and many of our local vendors, educational wine and cheese tastings, Co-op council meetings, storewide community or sales events and more. Check out the calendar for all the info.

Our Co-op curates workshops as part of our mission to educate the community, offering diverse learning opportunities while holding presenters accountable for providing information that is informative and well-researched. We are currently in the process of relaunching our workshop program, with new offerings starting in April and then a full roll-out of the new program in May.

If you have any questions or would like to suggest a topic/subject, a class or lecture, or an activity that you would be interested in or feel our community would like to attend, let us know at info@hungermountain.coop.  If you are interested in possibly presenting or leading a workshop in the future, please review and submit the application found here.

Today the Co-op will match Give Change donations made at the register!

Every month, we feature a local nonprofit organization as the recipient of our Give Change program. Customers have the chance to round up their purchase to the next dollar and that “change” becomes part of a collective effort to support those organizations and their programs and has a direct impact on our local community. Good Samaritan Haven is our featured community partner this month.

We provide tabling opportunities as part of our mission to educate our community. Tabling is a forum for community groups (nonprofit, educational, families/children, and the arts) to share educational materials with our member-owners and shoppers. Access to our tabling request form is available on the “Community” website tab.

This week, we will be featuring a selection of wines from the Loire Valley. In the middle of France, the region is known for both its rich history and its distinct wine regions, producing more than 4,000 wines of wide-ranging varieties. Wines from this area are known for refreshing acidity and minerality, moderate alcohol levels, and ideal food-pairing. They are also known as an excellent value. On Friday, we will be sampling four wines from the region, Pascal Jolivet val de Loire Sauvignon Blanc, Chateau de la Ragotiere Muscadet Sevre-et-maine Sur Lie, J. Mourat Fiefs Vendeens Rouge, and Les Pouches Saumur.

Our cheese pairing with these wines will be from a local favorite, Blue Ledge Farm. They are a family-run goat dairy farm producing a wide variety of outstanding cheeses while maintaining a dedication and commitment to respect for their animals, the land and the consumer. On Friday, try their plain chevre for a creamy, fresh, delightful goat cheese experience. You can pick up the plain or any of their chevre varieties for a perfect addition to your cheese plate, to spread on any cracker, or to pair with a wide variety of wines.

Beer and wine tastings are open to anyone aged 21 and older.
