Hunger Mountain Co-op condemns racism. We grieve the losses and stand in solidarity with the families and communities of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, Ahmaud Arbery, and too many others. We must speak up to help put an end to the systemic injustice and violence perpetrated against our communities of color. We must come together and work towards justice.
In solidarity with communities of color, our co-op is donating $1000 to Black Lives Matter of Greater Burlington. We encourage individuals to help however they can.
We know there is more we must do, as individuals, as a co-op, and a cooperative community. We invite your thoughts about how our co-op can change in order to help contribute to a more just, inclusive, and equitable society. For now, we simply and unequivocally say, Black Lives Matter.
