Please join us for our lineup of community workshops in August, including a variety of topics, from a tour of Yestermorrow Design/Build School to the benefits of eating colorful foods. We’ve also got our next book club meeting, featuring The Food Explorer: The True Adventures of the Globe-Trotting Botanist Who Transformed What America Eats by Daniel Stone, and a Get to Know Your Co-op workshop focused on our sustainability efforts.

Unless otherwise noted, all workshops are free and take place in our upstairs community room. An elevator to access that room is available upon request. Space for our workshops is limited, and pre-registration is suggested. You can reserve your spot using our online form  or by signing up on the bulletin board in our exit way.

Parent Support Group

Join a Circle of Parents support group for a friendly, supportive environment led by parents and other caregivers. Utilizing a mutual self-help support model, the group is a place where anyone in a parenting role can openly discuss the successes and challenges of raising children. The group is a place where parents and caregivers can learn that they are not alone and that they can change and grow. They learn new parenting ideas, replace old, harmful parenting ways with new healthy ways, and build social connections.

Tour Yestermorrow Design/Build School’s unique campus. See the woodshop, timber-framed outdoor classroom, mini gallery, and many natural buildings. Get to Know Your Co-op: Sustainable Shopping

The pigments of different produce can prevent illness, increase energy, and help manage your weight! Let’s enjoy this early harvest season and enjoy the full bounty of nutrients that our delicious, colorful, local produce has to offer. Amy Panetta, MA, NC, Nutrition and Weight Loss Consultant, will share foods of each color of the rainbow, how they can be beneficial to your health, and recipes that you can use right away!

What Color is Your Medicine?

Regina brings in each of the 5 Elements separately, to use as tools to understand the emotional and physical imbalances in our bodies. She starts with the Earth, the element of relationship. The place we learn to give and receive, as if we block one, we block the other. She works with examples and ways we can do a self-check-in our own systems and shares how to work with bringing this back into balance.
The experience Regina shares with the group always depends on the group. Each element speaks in a way that people may get uncomfortable or react to something their body is looking for, i.e., Water has to do with anxiety and fear, or Wood has to do with holding onto anger and frustrations. All the elements have a place in us, although this workshop is an avenue to bring attention and light onto where they may need to learn, heal, or grow.
