"It Wasn’t Supposed to Be Like This." 1 in 4 women experience a Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Disorder (PMAD), but what about partners/husbands? Whether it is the challenge to supporting a partner/wife who is struggling or being one of the 1 in 10 dads who has Postpartum Depression or Anxiety themselves, we know that partners/husbands are deeply affected by the transition to parenthood.

The Central Vermont Perinatal Mental Health Coalition is offering this community workshop to raise awareness and decrease stigma about PMAD and its effect on all members of a family, to share our growing local network of supports for families and offer participants opportunity to share their experiences. This workshop is in conjunction with Good Beginning’s hosting of its second Annual Climb Out of Darkness, a Postpartum Support International event, June 15 in Montpelier.

Becoming a parent is one of the biggest life transitions we go through, postpartum reactions are common, often unexpected, and deserve the best attention to help your family thrive.

Green Mountain Transit is finishing up a two year comprehensive system redesign. Capital Region changes are slated for implementation with the opening of the Taylor One Transit Center on Taylor St. in Montpelier, in August/September of this year.

We've been working hard at refining our plan, based on public comments, through several public outreach periods. We are in the final phase and would love to bring the final plan out to the Hunger Mountain Co-op Community, as part of a larger public outreach initiative, during the first two weeks in July. We will be presenting on changes, doing an interactive activity, and gathering public comment that will inform the final service change recommendations. Please join us, and help shape the future of transit in your region!
