Come to the Co-op today to meet a representative from the Northeast Organic Family Farm Partnership and taste some delicious cheese and dairy treats produced by some of its members.

The organization was created to help save 135 family-owned organic dairy farms in New England and eastern New York who, in 2021, were given abrupt notice that their contracts with two major processors would not be renewed the following year.  Without the stability of a contract and its guarantee that a significant portion of the farms’ milk would be purchased, the announcement left many reeling and facing a grim financial future.

Stop by the demo table between 2:30pm and 5:30pm to speak with a representative from the organization and learn about what they have been doing to save organic family farms in our region and how we, as consumers, can help.

In addition, a representative from one of NOFFP’s partners, The Grey Barn and Farm of Martha’s Vineyard, will be onsite offering samples of their award-winning, organic grass-fed Prufrock cheese, so be sure to come by and try some!
