  • Neighbors Helping Neighbors Food & Fund Drive
    All day
    December 14, 2021

    623 Stone Cutters Way

    623 Stone Cutters Way

Since the start of the pandemic, 1 in 3 Vermonters has experienced food insecurity. Help provide healthy meals for our neighbors by joining the Co-op in collecting food and funds for the Vermont Foodbank and central Vermont food shelves.

Hunger Mountain Co-op and Northfield Savings Bank have each donated $2,500 to the Vermont Foodbank. We are challenging our Co-op community to raise another $2,500 by December 27.

If we can reach our community goal, Hunger Mountain Co-op, Northfield Savings Bank, Farrell Distributing, and Cabot Cooperative Creamery will all make matching $2,500 donations, raising $17,500 to help feed our central Vermont neighbors in need.

    Ways You Can Help

    • At the register, round up your total or add a donation.
    • Opt-in to being asked to round up at the register.
    • While shopping online, add a donation to your Curbside Pick-Up order.
    • Drop off non-perishable donations in the exit way through December 27. Check out our sales on pantry staples. View the deals here or pick up the list in the exit way.

Together, we can make a difference!

  • City Market Virtual Class: German Holiday Baking with Brot Bakehouse
    5:30 PM-7:00 PM
    December 14, 2021

Join City Market for a traditional German Advent baking class, featuring a presentation about the history and traditions around holiday baking, and a demonstration of making some of the best-know holiday specialties in central Europe. They will feature some of the most beloved items you find on every “Adventsteller” in Europe (a traditional plate of baked goods, found in virtually every home during this time): StollenLebkuchenZimtsterne (cinnamon stars) and Vanillekipferl (vanilla crescents). The class will start with a presentation about European holiday baking traditions and how each of the baked goods you’ll make in class is firmly rooted in those traditions. Heike will then demo some of the basic steps of making those specialties; sharing important tips and tricks when baking them at home. With recipes right from the bakery you can start making those specialties yourself in your home kitchen – just in time for the holidays.

This class will be held on Zoom, and more information on joining the class will be sent to participants in advance.
