February Member-Owner Specials

One of the benefits of being a member-owner at the Co-op is the opportunity to take advantage of our monthly Member-Owner Specials. More than just great deals, they are also a chance to support many of our local vendors and producers.
For the month of February, we’re featuring a wide variety of products on sale in departments including grocery, frozen, bakery, bulk, wellness, meat, and cheese. There are also two Member-Owner Coupons this month, $3 off a $15 purchase of cheese and cheese substitutes (Jan. 30 – Feb. 12) and then $3 off a $15 purchase of soup (Feb. 13 – Feb. 26). Find the coupons here.
Products on sale in grocery come from some great local companies. Sherpa Foods has been widely and deservedly recognized for their work in the community, including their support of the Committee on Temporary Shelter. They recently received the 2018 Business Hero Award from that organization. Beyond their local neighborhoods, they’ve also supported important work in Nepal, including helping women in a rural village there become independent and assisting the population after an earthquake in 2015.
Other local vendors on sale in grocery include Liberty Chocolates, dedicated to their community and the planet, in addition to producing honey-sweetened chocolate treats; Ariel’s Honey Infusions, made with local, sustainably-harvested, raw Vermont honey and organic herbs; and Bee’s Wrap, a locally produced alternative to plastic wrap or aluminum foil that’s washable, reusable and compostable.
In the bakery section, our featured vendor of the month, Baby Bundts of Vermont, is on sale. You can read more about this local, family-run business and their delicious gluten-free pastries by checking out our interview with them here. We also recently featured another wonderful local bakery, Red Door Bakery, whose assorted dessert bars will be on sale. Read their great story here.
Many of our local products come from the numerous amazing farms dotting the landscape of Vermont.
Flack Family Farm in Fairfield is a diversified biodynamic farm using organic practices and offering items like milk, grass-fed meats, eggs, and fermented vegetables. Their organic kimchi, organic sauerkraut, and cultured raw vegetables are on sale. While they are not local, the bulk department features deals on items from two organic farms, SunRidge Farms, with milk chocolate rainbow drops and green tea vanilla chai almonds on sale, and Tierra Farm, with a selection of their nuts and trail mixes on sale.
The variety of items on sale for member-owners continues through other departments, including wellness, with local-made Love & Tea cards and postcards on sale; meat, with products from Niman Ranch and Applegate Organics on sale; and cheese, including deals on non-dairy, vegan and plant-based Miyokos Creamery and local favorites from Vermont Creamery, Grafton Village and Neighborly Farms.
