From the General Manager, March 9, 2022
Greetings from the Co-op. Last week, we members received notification of our patronage refunds for the Fiscal Year 2021. These refunds are our cooperative’s way of redistributing a portion of our net income back to our owners. Thanks to everyone’s incredible support and federal COVID-19 relief funds, this will be the largest patronage refund in our history, equivalent to about 2% of your purchases last year. As in past years, your refund has been issued as a store credit to be applied at the register to your purchases for the next 90 days. To receive your refund in cash, visit our customer service desk. If you have questions about your refund, email us.
As another option, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to our Hunger Mountain Cooperative Community Fund. Our Community Fund is a powerful tool for providing financial assistance locally while supporting cooperative development nationally. Since 2011, our Community Fund has provided over $85,000 to nearly 70 Central Vermont recipients, including Good Samaritan Haven, Cabot Harvest Hub, Rural Vermont, and the Children’s Early Learning Space.
Our co-op’s story is about many individuals contributing over time to create collective strength. During our 50th year as a co-op, please join in our effort to grow our Hunger Mountain Cooperative Community Fund for future generations of cooperators.
See you in the aisles,
Kari Bradley, General Manager
