Founded in 1998, Hissho Sushi has grown from a small operation to a nationwide brand by focusing on quality ingredients, 100% responsibly sourced seafood, retail partnerships, skilled chefs, and a commitment to innovation. Hissho strives to make delicious, accessible sushi available to everyone. Founder Philip Maung immigrated to the U.S. from Burma with a small loan and a big dream. In 1998, he saw an opportunity to bring authentic, high-quality sushi to U.S. supermarkets, a relatively untapped market then. Philip has shared, “One of the key inspirations behind starting Hissho Sushi was my desire to introduce sushi to a wider audience and make it more accessible.” Hissho has since grown into a major player in the sushi industry, with over 2,400 locations nationwide.
Hissho is continually exploring new ways to innovate and enhance its product line for customers and is excited to launch two new rolls in the coming weeks/months: the bold and fiery Nashville Hot Shrimp Roll and the Sweet Potato Crunch Roll for vegetarian lovers. Additionally, they are looking to expand their presence in new markets and continue to build strong partnerships with retailers across the country.
