Staff Spotlight: Tara Marli
Co-op Cashier Tara Marli shares a bit about herself.
What is your role at the Co-op?
I’m a cashier.
How long have you worked at the Co-op?
A little over a year.
What do you most enjoy about your work?
I really like my co-workers and interacting with our customers. Everyone has an interesting story, and I feel lucky to hear little bits about their lives.
What drew you to work at the Co-op?
I have been a member and always loved shopping here. When I was looking for a part time job, I went into the Co-op’s website on a whim. It’s worked out well!
What are you most proud of in your work?
I think what I’m most proud of is being told that I’m a calm presence. Grocery shopping can be stressful, especially since Covid. I try to encourage people to take their time when packing up and paying. If I can get them in and out quickly without feeling rushed, it’s a good thing.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years?
I try to stay focused on the present and live in the moment.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I’m an avid snowboarder and I go as much as I can in the winter. I do yoga as well. And, sometimes, I write short stories.
Share some favorites – could be a book, song, movie, meal, vacation destination, color, Co-op product…
I love winter, peanut butter, and Jeopardy.
What other jobs have you held?
I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for a long time. I also work part time as a pharmacy technician at the Dartmouth Cancer Center.
Anything else you would like to share?
I’m grateful to be part of the Co-op team!
