Freeride Montpelier, a collectively organized nonprofit welcoming all community members, promotes bicycling as an affordable, sustainable, and joyful means of transportation. We provide community-wide access to the knowledge, tools and support for maintenance and safe riding, as well as access to pre-owned bikes and parts.
Freeride promotes bicycling as a healthy, non-polluting transportation alternative as well as active recreation. Customers can work on their own bike with our tools or utilize our guidance to repair and maintain their bike. Further, through its Pay-It-Forward/Pay-What-You-Can pricing, bicycles are made available to everyone, regardless of their means. And finally, by taking donated used bikes and refurbishing them with used parts stripped from unusable bikes, it removes bikes that are no longer wanted from the waste stream and gives them a second life.
