Member Volunteer Program Sign-up

Thank you for your interest in Hunger Mountain Co-op’s Member Volunteer Program (MVP). Please read our MVP Information & Guidelines packet and check each statement below. Your digital signature at the bottom of this agreement will enroll you as a participant in the program.

Volunteer Participation

1. Independent Partner Organizations*

I understand that volunteer opportunities are provided through participating partner organizations and are subject to their scheduling needs, availability, and approval.

2. Scheduling Responsibility*

I understand that I am responsible for contacting a partner organization’s Volunteer Coordinator to schedule shifts or opportunities, and to notify them that I am participating in the Co-op's Member Volunteer Program.

3. Following Partner Policies*

I agree to follow all policies, procedures, training requirements, safety rules, confidentiality expectations, and codes of conduct established by the partner organization where I volunteer, and to perform my assigned volunteer tasks responsibly and respectfully.

Conduct Expectations

1. Harassment, Discrimination & Retaliation*

I understand that unlawful discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or other inappropriate conduct is not tolerated and may result in removal from the program.

2. Complaints & Misconduct*

I understand that substantiated complaints from Co-op staff, customers, or partner organizations may affect my eligibility to participate.

Hours, Reporting & Discounts

1. Hour Reporting Responsibility*

I understand that I must follow the partner organization’s process and deadlines for reporting and verifying my volunteer hours before my MVP credit can be applied.

2. Timing of Discount Application*

I understand that hours accrued in one month are generally applied to my account the following month.

3. Accumulated Hours*

I understand that hours accrue over time. Once 2 hours are logged, a 6% discount will be applied to my account for one month. Additional hours accrued will extend the length of my discount.

4. Shopping Shares*

If I participate as a Shopping Shares holder, I understand that I may accrue volunteer hours only for a member account for which I am an authorized Shopping Shares holder.

5. Expiration of Hours*

I understand that accrued volunteer hours expire after twelve (12) months if unused.

6. Non-Stacking Discounts*

I understand that account-level discounts do not stack, and I will only be eligible to receive the highest available discount. This includes Co-op Cares, Staff discount, Senior discount, and Council participation discounts.

7. Delayed Reporting*

I understand that discount activation depends on timely reporting from partner organizations, and delays may occur.

8. No Guarantee of Immediate Benefit*

I understand that participation does not guarantee immediate discount activation, specific volunteer placements, or uninterrupted program availability.

Program Administration

1. Program Updates*

I agree to receive periodic emails or communications regarding MVP updates, partner changes, deadlines, or program information. I understand that I can unsubscribe at any time.

2. Changes to the Program*

I understand that participating partners, procedures, and program terms may change over time.

3. Co-op Administration of Program*

I understand that the Co-op reserves the right to interpret and administer the program, including eligibility determinations and discount application.

4. Termination of Participation*

I understand that participation in the MVP may be suspended or terminated at the discretion of the Co-op for reasons including, but not limited to, abuse of the discount, refusal to perform assigned tasks, policy violations, misconduct, or inappropriate behavior.
