By creating mentoring relationships that foster a love of reading and language, Everybody Wins! Vermont increases children’s prospects for success and engages a diverse range of volunteers in their community schools.
Volunteering Summary
Volunteer mentors spend one hour a week reading with, chatting with and playing quiet games with their mentee. This takes place at the child’s school. Mentors participate in an hour-long training before being matched with a mentee and resources, in the form of books, games, etc., are provided. Also, there is always an Everybody Wins! staff person on hand to provide guidance to mentors and school staff available connect with the children when extra help is required.

Volunteers complete an application process online and then work with the site coordinator to set a schedule.

Volunteer Requirements
Volunteers commit to coming every week on the same day for about an hour from October through May.
The following are required for all volunteers:
- Online application and background check
- One on one interview
- Group orientation
