The Foundation for a Resilient Montpelier is a new, action-oriented organization established to create a healthy and resilient city through facilitating democratic engagement, supporting community-led initiatives, and gathering and distributing resources. The new organization was born from the merger of the Montpelier Foundation and the Montpelier Commission for Recovery and Resilience.
Fundamental to our work at Foundation for a Resilient Montpelier is building and strengthening community here in Montpelier. This happens through a variety of public convenings and through a number of projects that we host. One of those projects is called Montpelier Neighbor Net, a program designed to strengthen connections at the neighborhood scale with a focus on building social connections and emergency preparedness. As a result of community forums in spring of 2026, we are also facilitating a Montpelier-based conversation about strengthening the local food system. Ultimately we aim to be a force for good in Montpelier with a focus on strong community and resilience.
