Mosaic Vermont

Mosaic Vermont’s mission is to end violence and heal communities. We are the only nonprofit in Washington County dedicated solely to sexual violence response and prevention. We provide a 24-hour Helpline, crisis response services and advocacy, healing groups, programs that empower youth with education about consent and safe relationships, and community events that support knowledge and connection.

Sexual violence impacts people of all ages, genders, ethnicities, creeds, and socio-economic backgrounds. It often brings lifetime impacts on mental health, the ability to participate in work or education, and the ability to form and sustain safe and supportive relationships. The CDC also identified it as one of the costliest forms of violence, bringing an estimated $3.1 trillion burden to US taxpayers in lost worker productivity and publicly funded medical and legal costs. By providing essential support to people impacted by harm, and prevention measures that decrease future harm, Mosaic’s work contributes to improved mental health outcomes and quality of life, increased productivity, and a stronger sense of the connection and belonging that is vital to all healthy communities.

Volunteering Summary

• Office Cleaning: cleaning of common areas like meeting rooms, kitchen and bathroom by dusting, wiping counters, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming.
• Postering: putting up Helpline posters or event flyers on community boards around Washington County. Mosaic will provide a list of community board locations and the supplies needed. The volunteer must be able to provide their own transportation.

Volunteer Requirements

Volunteers should be 18 years of age or older, and able to meet the physical demands of the opportunity they choose. Because we work with vulnerable populations, we require all volunteers to sign and agree to our Personnel Manual and our Volunteer Agreement. If the volunteer opportunity requires driving, they must be able to provide their own transportation.
