The Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont is a nonprofit association of farmers, gardeners, and consumers working to promote an economically viable, ecologically sound, and socially just Vermont agricultural system that benefits all living things. NOFA-VT is best known for its state and federal advocacy, on-farm summer events, inspiring and educational Winter Conference, technical assistance for organic farmers and farmers’ markets, food access programming like Crop Cash and Farm Share Program, and farm-to-school activities that bring nutritious local food to kids.
Volunteering Summary
Varying on the season, NOFA-VT averages about 60 volunteers per year, most in the summer for their pizza oven or in February for their annual winter conference. They have various administrative tasks throughout the year, such as assistance with mailings or data entry.
