Noah Bowman is a Vermont native with his feet in the dirt; gardening and cooking while keeping an eye out for art around us in this beautiful landscape. Trained in fine art at the state colleges, he is found frequently using traditional techniques in his photography and as a painter. Noah can be found spending nights working as chef various kitchens around Lamoille County cooking food from fine dining to BBQ. Keeping a work and art balance allowing a natural style of images and seasonal local creative food.

Noah enjoys making the canvas himself. The wood, the power tools, the glue and stretching the canvas. He gets to a point when it is time to place the first bit of paint on this perfectly fabricated surface; it is time to start an almost meditative process. Abstractions can be passive like a wobbly tree. Abstractions can be intrusive; popping off the surface with texture or bright colors moving your eyes around a simple square or rectangle. Some people can relate to a color or a shape they pick out of the mix. Sometimes only the title of a piece of work can bring a better understanding.

With these acrylics on canvas paintings, he experimented with our relationship with architecture and abstraction. Sometimes examining the lines and architecture of the human being which he has found can generally be correctly examined from a distance quickly like reading the shape of the letters in a word.
