Join us for an Earth Day and Member Appreciation celebration on April 22, 2026!

Caring for the Earth is at the core of all that we do at the Co-op, and we welcome you to join us on April 22, from noon – 5 pm, to celebrate Earth Day! We’ve got a day of fun activities and savings planned, and we can’t wait to share it with you. Visit us under the tent to learn and grow together! Enter giveaways and sample maple syrup and treats from Vermont Maple. Members receive 5% off in the Bulk and Produce departments all day long! We can’t wait to see you there.
- Eco-Depot, noon – 4 pm: Learn how to recycle almost anything with the Eco-Depot. They will also be accepting old cell phones for recycling at the table.
- Ticket to Ride, noon – 5 pm: Explore bike commuting and bike-to-transit options to reduce your carbon footprint.
- The Co-op’s Green Team, noon – 5 pm: Plant a seedling or make a wildflower seed orb!
- Ecological Shopping Tours, noon and 2 pm: Learn about plastic-free alternatives and how to shop our bulk sections.
- 350Vermont, noon – 5 pm: Building a people-powered and people-led climate justice movement in Vermont for a just, thriving world.
- Kellogg-Hubbard Library, 1 pm – 3 pm: Enjoy earth-centered books and crafts. Storytime at 1:30 pm.
- Fantasy Faces, 1 pm – 4 pm: Get creative and embody your favorite creature with artistic face painting.
- Slap Happy Jack, 3 pm – 5 pm: Listen and dance to fun, high-energy music that spans genres and eras.
- The Council’s Sustainability Committee: Learn about the ways the Co-op lightens its impact.
- Foundation for a Resilient Montpelier: Learn about Neighbor Net
Attend an earth-friendly workshop in our Community Room:
- April 21 at 6 pm, check out a simple sauerkraut making workshop with Beki from Vermont Fermentation Adventures.
- April 25 at 10 am, Co-op employee Bevin Barber-Campbell will host a bicycle safety workshop.
- April 25 at noon, Charen Fegard from Central Vermont Solid Waste Management District will be holding a textile mending workshop.
