Q: The app is awful and you should be ashamed.
A: We are always looking for more ways to bring value to our shoppers. I undersand it is not for everyone, but I am not ashamed. —Rowan, Community Relations Manager
Q: Special membership with app is not fair!
A: Thanks for your comment. There is no special membership at the Co-op. Digital Deals are available to everyone – you don’t have to be a member. And if you don’t want to download the app you can access deals through their website. www.deals.coop. —Rowan, Community Relations Manager
Q: Gah! Don’t make us bring phones to get a special 🙁
A: Thanks for your comment. Digital Deals is something we are trying out. 6-8 items each week are on sale this way. All of our regular sales still exist without needing to access the app. —Rowan, Community Relations Manager
Q: I’m distressed to see the QR codes all around the store offering sales. I/we spend enough time on our phones. Our data is tracked and sold, and this is in the interest of profit, not our well-being. If there’s a sale to be had in the co-op, please just make it public, not subject to using a phone.
A: Thanks for sharing your thoughts – I get it. These are deals being offered through NCG (National Co-op of Grocers) and it is somethign we are trying out. I realize it’s not for everyone, but we are always looking for ways to be more affordable. NCG does not sell your data. There is also an option to print out the bar code fro mthe website instead of using a phone. www.deals.coop —Rowan, Community Relations Manager
Q: Am really concerned to see that there are now sales/discounts that can only be accessed through the digital app. What about those who don’t have smart phones or who can’t — or simply don’t want to — navigate digital systems? I realize this is a national co-op initiative, and I want Hunger Mountain to say: No! This is awful!
A: Thank you for your input. We realize this isn’t for everyone, but know that you can access the deals through a website: www.deals.coop.
We are always looking fro ways to be more affordable to more people This is somethig we are trying for six months. Community feedback will help to determine future participation. —Rowan, Community Relations Manager
Q: I’ve been a member since the ’70’s , but now, to get a discount on certain products I have to have a phone and an app to get it. How is this fair?
A: Thanks for your comment. We are helping to pilot a digital-based sales program through National Co-op of Grocers. Since we are always looking for ways to offer savings we are giving it a try. I realize that it doesn’t work for everyone, and I am keeping track of all feedback. Thanks! —Rowan, Community Relations Manager
