Volunteer Opportunities for Central VT Adult Education

Central Vermont Adult Education provides free adult education and literacy services to adults and out-of-school youth age 16+, and to engage the entire community in their efforts.

Volunteering Summary

Teaching volunteers work in partnership with staff teachers, the Volunteer Coordinator and other volunteers to help students reach their goals and get ahead. You can expect to:

  • Help students with reading, writing, math, computer skills, and English language learning.
  • Support a student's progress in achieving a high school diploma, equivalent (GED), or transition into career and further education.

How to Sign Up

Volunteers generally work with a teacher to set up a schedule to meet with a student or class. This is after they have been oriented and matched with a student. We don’t have general open shifts.
