November Local Focus
Our community extends well beyond the walls of the Co-op. Each month, we shine the spotlight on a new group of local partners to help share their stories and celebrate their role in our community.

To kick off the holiday season, we are pleased to feature Stonewood Farm for the month of November. Located on 1,000 acres in Orwell, Vermont, Stonewood Farm has been providing humanely raised turkeys since 1976. Read more about Stonewood Farm.
Give Change to Support the Holiday Grocery Pack
Every December for the past 16 years, Hunger Mountain Co-op has supported local organizations and area schools by donating grocery bags filled with nutritious food. Read more about the Holiday Grocery Pack.
Bag That Bag to Help a Neighbor in Need
Help support the Montpelier Food Pantry every time you shop at Hunger Mountain Co-op just by remembering your reusable bags! For each bag, basket, or box that you use at the register, we will donate five cents to the Food Pantry. Last month, this totaled $1,121.95 and saved 22,439 paper bags. Since July of 2019, we have donated $3,156.55 to the food pantry and replaced 63,131 paper bags. And over the past three years, Hunger Mountain Co-op shoppers have collectively raised nearly $33,000 for the food pantry! Read more about the work of Just Basics, Inc and the Food Pantry.

“There is so much beauty to see in our day to day journeys, be it in our own community or expeditions beyond to other places. I always carry a camera to remind me to slow down and take in the familiar, the changes inherent in light and seasons, or exploring new landscapes both outside and interiors. The photographs are a journal of some of the things I have seen and chose to share with my community.” Read more about Linda Hogan.
Community Events
We host a variety of events, including product demos led by our demo coordinator and many of our local vendors, educational wine & cheese tastings, tabling with area nonprofits, Co-op council meetings, and more. Check out what’s going on in November here.
