Located in Warren, Vermont Bean Crafters was created in 2009. Born out of a love affair with beans and the desire to craft enjoyable, affordable, locally sourced, organic products rooted in the simple, soulful, superlative bean. Bean Crafters was founded on the belief that what we eat and how it is prepared has a direct and powerful effect on our communities and the environment. That we can do good by eating well.

Guided by the mission to craft delicious, nourishing, organic food. Their work is centered on helping communities to thrive from the soil on up. Bean Crafters burgers are certified as organic, gluten-free, and vegan. They are free from the top allergens and backed by a transparent ingredient list that contains no derivatives or modified ingredients.

Where Bean Crafters gets their “Wow” factor is in the percentage of regional (defined by Vermont Bean Crafters as within 300 miles) ingredients in each of their products: Harvest Veggie Burger – 70%, Black Bean Burger – 86%, Mockingbird Nuggets – 87%, Falafel Burger and Fritters – 43%. Vermont Bean Crafters also supports the hard work of others; they donate $1 of each case of retail burgers to Hunger Free Vermont, Migrant Justice, Northeast Farmers of Color Land Trust, Vermont Racial Justice Alliance, and Pathways Vermont. Along with supporting these organizations, they also donate dry beans to their local food shelf and recently ran an online shop promotion that raised over $1,000 for the Vermont Foodbank.

Vermont Bean Crafters is still a small business in a funky little niche, but they hope that as they continue to grow, their capacity to support other organizations doing good work will grow as well.

Bean Crafters have made eating healthy easy, quick, and convenient. Serve their burgers the traditional way, on a bun with yummy toppings, but you can also eat them crumbled up on a salad, in a taco, tucked in a pita, in your egg sandwich, or on top of nachos. The possibilities are endless!
